After we strolled around the mall finding a perfect suit for Yok, we were starved and decided to eat merienda. The boyfriend wants to eat pasta and cake and so we went to Red Ribbon, because it's the only available food chain in the mall which serves both. Yok Han has been meaning to try the Chocolate Heaven while I, contented with a plate of pasta, tried it too for I am a chocolate lover!
It was very tempting at first look. Covered with shinny chocolate icing and chocolate curls. One time I was watching a cooking show, the chef made a chocolate icing and boy, making a shinny and polished-floor like icing isn't an easy breezy thing to do! Oh how I'd like to have a cooking show one day! Too bad I wasn't able to take a photo of it so I googled some for you to see!
Red Ribbon's Chocolate Heaven, sinfully heaven!
Inside look of the cake, the chocolate brownie layer serves as the base of the cake, layered with chocolate mousse on top, slathered with dark chocolate icing and topped with chocolate curls.
The only thing I did not like is the chocolate icing and the chocolate curls topping. I'm a lover of dark chocolate and the two taste like it. But see, there are things that may seem bad by themselves like raw egg, cooking oil and flour. But when they're put together in the right way, they may a wonderful and delicious cake. But in this case, all things are perfect by themselves and tried to make even more perfect when put together. The result? It was too much, I think.
And goodness, just think of the sky-high fat and the calories intake after eating this piece of sin. A normal chocolate cake, with filling and coating will cost you 26% of total fat. Now imagine how much more fat you'll be accumulating in one sitting with that baby eh? I'm not a body-conscious gal who shapes up for the society but I try to be a health buff so as to take care of my inherited Diabetes blood line.
The cake is too much it makes my heart go pitter-patter. Seriously! Yok and I wasn't even able to finish that piece of heaven and sin and when we stood up, we felt dizzy. Probably because of the sugar rush.
I haven't eaten dinner and will never eat because I still feel full and sweet and fudgy all over! It's a sinful piece of heaven indeed!
